Couple/Marital Therapy
There are three levels at which intervention may be focused: the family, couple or the individual, and it is the couple level which appears to have the most potential to create change across all three levels of functioning (Lewis, Beavers, Gossett and Phillips (1976).

When couples begin therapy the most common complaint is lack of communication. Other issues include power struggles, infidelity, trust issues, haunting issues from the past, secrets, unrealistic expectations, sexual concerns, finances, negative outside influences, and child rearing differences. Many couples seeking services are utilizing therapy as a final effort to save the relationship. Nevertheless, it may be the one last effort that helps recreate a loving and peaceful relationship.

Fifty percent of all marriages are successful. We don't go into a marriage thinking when will I get divorced. You won't be able to go back to the relationship you had in the beginning. I believe in the possibility of developing a new bond, gaining insight, and learning skills in order to prevent relationship turmoil. I highly recommend premarital counseling and relationship tune ups, every now and again.  If you are struggling in your relationship, call (701-839-3083) and ask your questions and/or make an appointment.

Family Therapy
When one family member is struggling, the whole family struggles. Issues which bring families to therapy may include depression, anxiety, alcohol/drug issues, child/adolescent behavior problems, life transition difficulties, family trauma, etc. The family will meet with the therapist to talk about what each family member is experiencing, identify the problem, and find solutions. All members can be included and/or specific family units i.e. parents, parent and child, or children.

Individual Therapy
Individual therapy can help you gain insight, hope, courage, confidence, and empowerment. It is a process of creating yourself into the person you want to be. Experiences of sadness/depression, trauma, anxiety, confusion, loneliness, anger, and grief are some issues which you may seek out therapy.

Take care of yourself and act on those moments you’re wondering if therapy can help. Call (701-839-3083) or email (AshleyKassonTherapy@gmail.com) to ask your questions and/or to make an appointment.

Individual therapy is available for children, adolescents, and adults.

Friendly. Knowledgeable. Caring.
